The Elephant Man Goes to Africa
The Elephant Man Goes to Africa—in two months I am on my way. I am trying to sell my motorcycle, I’ve cashed in my retirement fund, and my brother is matching my money. It’s definite. A photographer and a cameraman are coming with me. I will be writing another book and filming a new documentary, telling the story of how I will keep my promise to take Timbo and Kura home to Africa and laying their spirits to rest in an honorable way. Stay tuned.

ReplyDeleteGreeting from Asia Taiwan~ Just watch your story from Animal planet. It is wonderful have people like you to do this incredible job. All I have to say is thank you to make this world better.
ReplyDeleteYour an amazing man, I am completely mezmerized by you and your spirit. Have been for years!! Ironically I find it strange reading this if I had to give up my Harley for my rescues..would I? I would!! Although it is one of my two spirit calmers. The animals love back Harleys don't. I think you should put it on eBay I bet that gorgeous custom Harley of yours would bring in a pretty penny with your name on it. Be free, be still be happy and soak it all in. Say your good byes and know that what you brought to those elephants life is probably more than they brought to yours. Dont let what you learned die keep passing it on! Keep us posted! Love and respect always1
ReplyDeletechris,
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about what can be done for other elephants in captivity? You could be a real help through your knowledge and high profile. There are plenty of crazy people with good intentions but the message gets lost in the antics . What we do to animals is heartbreaking and a sane voice is needed to let people know that for example, the circus is not all lollipops and sunshine if you are an animal. Knowledge is great but sharing that knowledge is even greater. Even if we just change some of the "practices" of chaining the elephants or some other awful antiquated way of treating animals in our care. I sometimes feel very helpless when dealing with these issues. Good luck to you and be in peace.
